Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash at Northgate Boulevard and West El Camino Avenue

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 12, 2020) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash Sunday afternoon in Sacramento, police said.
 
The crash happened around 2:41 p.m. at the intersection of Northgate Boulevard and West El Camino Avenue.
 
Officers arrived at the crash site to find a man suffering major injuries after being struck by a vehicle. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.
 
Police determined that the involved vehicle fled the area before officers showed up.
 
Investigators were on their way to canvass the neighborhood, locate witnesses and see if there were nearby surveillance cameras that may have filmed the crash.
 
Crews closed West El Camino in the area of Northgate Boulevard after the crash, although Northgate Boulevard itself remains open to traffic.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available. Police are still investigating the crash.
