Michael Eyler Killed in DUI Crash on Rancheria Road [BAKERSFIELD, CA]

Passenger Dies in Fourth of July DUI Crash on Rancheria Road north of Highway 178

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 4, 2020) – A passenger who died in a Fourth of July DUI crash has been identified as 54-year-old Michael Dempsey Eyler.
 
The crash happened around 9:51 p.m. on Rancheria Road, just north of Highway 178.
 
Eyler was riding in a Chevrolet Silverado south on Rancheria Road when the driver, 31-year-old Eli Valdominos Jr., lost control of the vehicle. The Silverado then veered off the roadway, hit a dirt berm and overturned.
 
Paramedics rushed Eyler to Kern Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
Valdovinos Jr., 31, suffered moderate injuries. Police later arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
CHP official said both Eyler and Valdominos Jr. were ejected from the vehicle. Both were not wearing their seat belts.
 
Investigators asked anyone with further information to call the CHP at 661-396-6600.
