Speeding Rider Dies after Crashing into Tree on Solana Way near Calle Aranda
TEMECULA, CA (July 11, 2020) – A motorcyclist who died last Saturday after a crash in Temecula has been identified by authorities.
The crash happened around 11:18 p.m. on Solana Way, about a quarter mile east of Calle Aranda.
Johnathon Kautz, 40, of Temecula was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed on Solana Way when he lost control. His motorcycle then struck a tree before coming to rest.
Deputies found Kautz lying on the eastbound side of the road, where they attempted life-saving measures on him.
However, Kautz did not survive and died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
