Person Hospitalized after DUI Accident on Vineland Road in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 10, 2020) – One person sustained injuries in a DUI accident on Vineland Road, early Saturday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 3:05 AM. A vehicle was approaching Panama Lane at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign. Then, the vehicle broadsided an eastbound car at the intersection of Vineland Road and Panama Lane.

Emergency crews transported the speeding driver to Kern Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Meanwhile, the other driver did not need further medical attention.

CHP believes that the speeding driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
