Two Men Killed, Three Hurt after Santa Rosa High-Speed Crash on Stony Point Road

SANTA ROSA, CA (July 13, 2020) — Two men were dead and three people suffered serious injuries in a speeding crash in Santa Rosa on Sunday, July 12.

According to officers, they received a report about the incident around 12:15 a.m. on Stony Point Road near Trombetta Street. Officers said the crash was between a silver BMW and silver Cadillac CTS.

An investigation showed that the BMW traveled at a high rate of speed northbound on Stony Point Road at Lazzini Avenue. At the same time, a Cadillac moved westbound on Lazzini Avenue at Stony Point.

It is not yet determined if the Cadillac traveled straight across the intersection or made a left turn onto southbound Stony Point Road, police said. It is also unknown which car had a green light to enter the intersection.

Officials pronounced two men in the Cadillac dead at the scene.

Paramedics rushed the two men and a woman in the BMW to the hospital. All three suffered injuries considered serious, but not life-threatening.

Authorities closed Stony Point Road for several hours between Gardner Avenue and Campbell Drive.
