Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash at Oxnard Street and Cantaloupe Avenue

 
VAN NUYS, CA (July 8, 2020) – A 70-year-old man died in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday last week in Van Nuys.
 
The crash happened around 8:55 p.m. at the intersection of Oxnard Street and Cantaloupe Avenue.
 
According to police, a male pedestrian was crossing the street when an eastbound gray 2007 Saturn Ion struck him.
 
Firefighters arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The victim was a resident of Van Nuys. His name was not immediately available.
 
The driver did not stop to render aid. The Saturn was last seen driving east on Oxnard street, and has considerable damage to the front of the vehicle. The sedan’s mirror and other parts of the car where found at the scene.
 
Authorities asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Valley Traffic Division Officer Martinez at (818) 644-8022.
