2 Men Killed in Fiery Crash on 880 Freeway at Davis Street [SAN LEANDRO, CA]

Early Morning Fiery Crash on 880 Freeway in San Leandro Kills Two

 
SAN LEANDRO, CA (July 11, 2020) – Two men died in a fiery crash early Saturday morning in San Leandro, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on 880 Freeway at Davis Street off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling southbound on the freeway when it crashed near the ramp and caught fire.
 
Deputies arrived and found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. One occupant was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the roadway. The other was still inside the burning car.
 
Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities initially identified them as men in their 20s or 30s.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
