One Killed in Bicycle Crash on Magnolia Avenue near Jackson Street [RIVERSIDE, CA]

Fatal Bicycle Crash on Magnolia Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (July 6, 2020) – One person died in a bicycle crash Monday evening in Riverside, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 10:25 p.m. on Magnolia Avenue, just east of Jackson Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a bicyclist was crossing the four-lane corridor from north to south. For unknown reasons, he rode his bike directly in front of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was heading west on Magnolia Avenue.
 
The Harley smashed into the bicyclist, killing him on the spot. Authorities did not identify the victim pending next of kin notification.
 
The motorcyclist, a 54-year-old Corona man, and his passenger went down on the road. Paramedics took them to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. They are expected to recover.
 
Officials said there was no crosswalk nearby.
 
Police are still investigating the crash. They asked anyone with further information to contact the Traffic Bureau at 951-826-8720.
