Rider Injured in Motorcycle Collision on Kietzke Lane near Taylor Street [RENO, NV]

Reno Motorcycle Accident Leaves Rider Injured

 
RENO, NV (July 10, 2020) – A rider suffered injuries in a motorcycle collision on Kietzke Lane in Reno Friday afternoon.
 
According to the Reno police, the motorcyclist collided with another vehicle near Taylor Street at about 3:00 p.m.
 
The initial investigation indicated that the motorcyclist stopped for a pedestrian, and then, a vehicle drove up behind them. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly did not see the motorcyclist had stopped and struck it.
 
The rider was taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
 
Meantime, officials had northbound Kietzke Lane closed for traffic while they investigated and crews cleared the scene. The roadway reopened after about three hours.
 
When driving, it is important to keep an eye out for motorcyclists. Check all your mirrors and blind spots for motorcycles before merging with traffic or changing lanes, especially at intersections. Also, allow more following distance when behind a motorcycle. This gives them more time to react or stop in case of an emergency.
