Motorcyclist Killed, Elderly Woman Injured in Crash on Fremont Street [Las Vegas, NV]
Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Fremont Street near North Bruce Street
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 9, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed and another motorist sustained injuries in a crash on Fremont Street, Thursday morning.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened at about 10:10 AM. A westbound Suzuki GSX-R reportedly entered the intersection on a red light. Then, it slammed into a southbound 1994 Buick Roadmaster that entered the Fremont Street intersection on a green light.
Emergency responders rushed the motorcyclist and the Buick driver, identified as a 72-year-old woman, to University Medical Center. Unfortunately, despite lifesaving efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
The Buick driver sustained minor injuries, but her current condition remains undisclosed.
LVMPD continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
