Firefighters Rescue Driver after Car Crashes into Forklift on 5 Freeway

 
BURBANK, CA (July 8, 2020) – A man sustained injuries after his car crashed into a forklift on 5 Freeway, early Wednesday morning.
 
According to the Burbank Fire Department, the incident happened near Burbank Boulevard, at about 3:24 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, a black SUV crashed into a large forklift parked at a construction site along the freeway.
 
The impact of the crash trapped the driver inside the SUV. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped man. After freeing the driver, firefighter paramedics transported him to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
