Authorities Identifies Romulo Soriano Jr. as Driver Killed after Crashing into Back of VTA Bus on San Carlos Street in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (July 3, 2020) – A driver who died in a rear-end crash with a bus Friday afternoon in San Jose has been identified by the authorities.
 
The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. on westbound San Carlos Street at Buena Vista Avenue, three blocks west of the Meridian.
 
According to the CHP, a black Mitsubishi coupe ran into the back of a Valley Transportation Authority bus that was pulling up to a stop from the westbound lanes of San Carlos Street.
 
The impact caused severe injuries on the Mitsubishi driver. Arriving units pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Both Mitsubishi’s passengers, a 30-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, and a 36-year-old man with moderate injuries, were hospitalized.
 
Paramedics also took the VTA bus driver to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The two passengers on the bus were not injured.
 
The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office identified the deceased as Romulo Soriano Jr., 40, of San Jose.
