Bicyclist Hit, Critically Injured by Train near Allen Street [Kelso, WA]

Man Hit by Train near Allen Street and Cowlitz Way in Kelso

 
KELSO, WA (July 7, 2020) – A bicyclist was hit by a train near Allen Street, late Tuesday evening.
 
According to the Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue, the incident happened at about 11:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a train hit a bicyclist near Cowlitz Way.
 
Fire officials found a man pinned under the train with his bicycle nearby. Responders coordinated with the BNSF Railway to disconnect about 80 feet of train. After almost half an hour, the bicyclist was freed.
 
As per reports, the man was conscious but critically injured when emergency personnel transported him to St. John Medical Center. Updates on his current condition remain undisclosed.
 
The Kelso Police Department continues to investigate the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
