One Dead, Five Hurt in Wrong-Way Accident on Monte Vista Avenue

 
MONTCLAIR, CA (July 8, 2020) – A teen died and five people injured after a wrong-way accident on Monte Vista Avenue in Montclair on Sunday, July 5.
 
Montclair police said a 17-year-old drove an SUV over the center median of Monte Vista Avenue. Then it started moving south in the northbound around 5:40 p.m.
 
The SUV then crashed with a sedan, which was occupied by a 51-year-old woman. She suffered minor injuries and medics rushed her to a local hospital.
 
A 14-year-old passenger of the SUV died at the scene, officials said.
 
Four additional passengers had moderate injuries and were also rushed to local hospitals.
