Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Two Bunch Palms Trail in Desert Hot Springs

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (July 8, 2020) – A bicyclist died in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning in Desert Hot Springs.
 
The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. at the intersection of Two Bunch Palms Trail and Cholla Drive.
 
Based on evidence at the scene, officers determined that a maroon 2006-2009 Lexus IS250 was traveling westbound on Two Bunch Palms Trail. It then struck the bicyclist who was heading in an unknown direction in the middle of the roadway.
 
The victim, a 43-year-old male, died at the scene. His name was not immediately available pending family notification.
 
The driver of the Lexus did not stop to render aid.
 
Crews closed the Two Bunch Palms Trail between Cholla Drive and Little Morongo Road for the investigation.
