1 Dead, 1 Critically Hurt in Crash on Sepulveda Boulevard [Culver City, CA]

Fatal Car Crash on Sepulveda Boulevard near Howard Hughes Parkway

 
CULVER CITY, CA (July 7, 2020) – A driver died and another sustained injuries in a fiery car crash on Sepulveda Boulevard, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the Culver City Police Department, the incident happened at about 5:20 AM. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided in the 6800 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard, near the intersection with Howard Hughes Parkway.
 
The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to roll over and the other car to catch fire.
 
The driver inside the overturned vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Good Samaritans pulled the driver from the burning vehicle before the arrival of emergency crews. Medics then rushed the driver to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
Officers believe that alcohol played a role in the fatal crash. Anyone with additional information should call the Watch Commander at (310) 253-6202 as soon as possible. Authorities will release more details once they become available.
