Victor Carrillo Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on 105th Street [LENNOX, CA]

Man who Tripped after Lighting Firework Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver at 105th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard

 
LENNOX, CA (July 4, 2020) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash Saturday evening in the unincorporated Lennox neighborhood.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on 105th Street, just east of Hawthorne Boulevard.
 
Police said Victor Torres Carrillo, 26, of Inglewood had just been setting off a firework in the middle of the street when he tripped while trying to walk toward the shoulder of the road. A fast-moving vehicle then struck him.
 
The vehicle, a Ford Mustang or a Chevrolet Camaro, sped off westbound on 105th Street.
 
Arriving units pronounced Carrillo dead at the scene.
 
Investigators closed 105th Street, east of Hawthorne Boulevard, for about three hours while they worked on the scene.
 
Police are still searching for the driver. They urged witnesses to call officer Vance Perreria or officer Karina Malkandueva at the CHP West Los Angeles Area office at 310-642-3939.
