Pedestrian Jay Jackson Killed in Chollas Creek Hit-and-Run
CHOLLAS CREEK, CA (July 3, 2020) – Authorities identified 48-year-old Norman Jay Jackson as the pedestrian struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Chollas Parkway, early Friday morning.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 1:00 AM. A “racer type” car with a loud muffler hit Jackson as the vehicle sped down the street. The impact of the collision threw the pedestrian around 150 feet before hitting the ground.
Emergency responders pronounced Jackson dead at the scene.
However, the driver of the speeding vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the area. As per reports, witnesses last saw the suspect vehicle going south on 54th Street.
SDPD’s Traffic Division continues to investigate the fatal collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
