Driver Runs Red Light, Causes Multi-Car Crash on Maple Avenue
FRESNO, CA (July 4, 2020) – A woman sustained serious injuries following a multi-car crash on Maple Avenue, Saturday afternoon.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened at about 2:30 PM. A Cadillac was eastbound on Clinton Avenue in the No.2 lane when the driver ran a red light. Then, the Cadillac slammed into the side of a Ford Fusion in the No.1 Lane on Maple Avenue.
The impact of the collision caused the Ford Fusion to spin and collide with a black truck.
Emergency responders transported the Ford driver, described as a woman in her early 20s, to a hospital. As per reports, the woman sustained serious injuries but is listed in stable condition.
Two occupants in the truck sustained moderate injuries and also needed hospitalization. However, it is unknown whether or not the Cadillac driver sustained injuries.
Fresno police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities will release more details once they become available.
