 Pedestrian Killed in Speeding Hit-and-Run Crash on Chollas Parkway

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 6, 2020) – A pedestrian in his 40s was killed after a speeding hit-and-run on Chollas Parkway in San Diego on Friday, July 3.
 
According to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department, the crash happened in the 5300 block of Chollas Parkway at 1:00 a.m.
 
An initial investigation determined an unknown racer type car with a loud muffler traveled at a high rate of speed southbound on Chollas Parkway. Then it struck the pedestrian and carried him for an undetermined distance before the impact threw him off. The driver of the vehicle stopped for a moment, then left the area, Heims stated.
 
First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
Reports said that the suspect vehicle was last seen moving southbound on 54th Street.
 
San Diego police traffic division handles the ongoing investigation of the hit-and-run accident.
