Driver Killed in Rear-End Crash on San Carlos Street [San Jose, CA]

Driver Killed, Three Others Hurt after San Jose Crash

 
SAN JOSE, CA (July 6, 2020) – A driver was killed and three other people injured in a rear-end crash on San Carlos Street on Friday, July 3.
 
Officers responded around 5:15 p.m. to West San Carlos Street and North Buena Vista Avenue after receiving a call about the incident. They determined that a Valley Transportation Authority was slowing pulling up to a stop from the westbound lanes of West San Carlos. Then it was rear-ended by a black Mitsubishi.
 
The 40-year-old driver died at the scene, marking the city’s 25th fatal incident this year.
 
Medics rushed a 30-year-old male passenger in the vehicle to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. They also transported a 36-year-old male passenger to the hospitalized with minor injuries.
 
The bus driver was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. No passenger on the bus had injuries.
 
Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after confirming his identity and notifying next of kin.
