Randy Estrada Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on West Shields Avenue [FRESNO COUNTY, CA]

Driver Dies in Fresno Hit-and-Run Crash at West Shields Avenue and North Howard Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 2, 2020) – A man was killed following a hit-and-run crash Thursday evening in Fresno County.
 
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Shields Avenue and North Howard Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2002 silver Toyota Corolla was traveling south on Howard Avenue when it failed to stop at a stop sign. It then struck the left rear side of a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer and fled the scene.
 
The Blazer overturned several times from the impact. The driver was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
 
The Fresno County Coroner identified the victim as Randy Estrada, 60, of Kerman. He was not wearing a seat belt.
 
Authorities said the Corolla sustained major damage on the front, and CHP officers were canvassing the area, looking for it. They asked anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to call the Fresno Area CHP at (559) 262-0400.
