Eli Valdovinos Jr. Arrested in Deadly DUI Crash on Rancheria Road [BAKERSFIELD, CA]

DUI Crash on Rancheria Road near Highway 178 Kills Passenger

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 4, 2020) – A man was arrested for DUI following a deadly crash Saturday evening in Bakersfield, according to the CHP.
 
The crash happened around 9:51 p.m. on Rancheria Road, about 4 and a half miles north of Highway 178.
 
CHP officials said a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Rancheria Road when it lost control. It then traveled onto the east side of the roadway and hit a dirt berm.
 
The pickup truck overturned, partially or fully ejected both the driver and passenger. Neither of them was wearing a seat belt.
 
Arriving paramedics rushed the passenger to a Kern Medical Center, where he died. His identity was not immediately disclosed.
 
The driver, identified as 31-year-old Eli Valdovinos Jr., suffered moderate injuries. Police later arrested him for driving under the influence.
