Passenger Dies after Crash on Granite Road north of Road Mountain Road

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 1, 2020) – A passenger died following a car accident Wednesday morning in Bakersfield, CHP officials said.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:00 a.m. on Granite Road, about six miles north of Road Mountain Road.
 
According to an initial report by the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle had crashed for unknown reasons. The impact caused major injuries on the male passenger.
 
Paramedics arrived and attempted saving the patient, but he died at the scene.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Andres Gonzalez, 23, of Arvin.
 
The condition of the driver was not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. CHP officials are still investigating the incident.
