Tori Haywood Killed in Head-On Crash on Palmdale Boulevard [PALMDALE, CA]
Head-On Crash on Palmdale Boulevard Kills Two and Injures Five
PALMDALE, CA (July 2, 2020) – A woman was killed following a head-on crash Thursday night in Palmdale.
The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on Palmdale Boulevard, just east of 80th Street East.
According to the CHP, a 2014 Hyundai was traveling eastbound on Palmdale Boulevard when it veered into the westbound lane and collided head-on into a westbound 2020 Toyota. The impact involved a 2021 Hyundai that was heading west on Palmdale Boulevard behind the Toyota.
As a result, the driver of the Toyota died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Tori Ann Haywood, 42, of Smithville, Tennessee.
A passenger in the Toyota, 18-year-old Tyjhai Ladet of Smithville, Tennessee, suffered major injuries. Paramedics rushed her to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
Three other passengers in the Toyota, 18-year-old Sierra Ladet, 18-year-old Tyzjon Ladet, and 18-year-old Tre Lamar Ladet, all from Smithville, Tennessee, sustained moderate injuries.
The driver of the 2014 Hyundai, a 20-year-old Palmdale man, also died at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
His female passenger, 20-year-old M.N. Ankenbrandt of Lancaster, sustained major injuries and was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the 2021 Hyundai, 21-year-old Tia Perkins of McMinnville, Tennessee, was not injured.
An investigation is underway.
