Mayra Morales Killed in DUI Crash on San Pablo Avenue [RICHMOND, CA]

Miguel Lechuga-Damian Arrested for DUI after Fatal Crash on San Pablo Avenue in Richmond

 
RICHMOND, CA (June 25, 2020) – A woman who died in a car crash Thursday evening last week in Richmond has been identified.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:24 p.m. on June 25, in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Hilltop Drive.
 
According to police, a vehicle spun out of control and struck the center divider. It then went off the roadway and hit a tree.
 
As a result, the female passenger in the car died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Mayra Morales, 21, of San Rafael.
 
The driver, 35-year-old Miguel Lechuga-Damian, was transported to a hospital in stable condition. He was later arrested by police.
 
Police charged Lechuga-Damian with gross vehicular manslaughter, driving drunk within 10 years of a prior DUI offense, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
 
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
