Rodrigo Llamas Killed in High-Speed Crash on Almaden Expressway [SAN JOSE, CA]

Speeding Driver Dies after Crashing into Trees on Almaden Expressway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 16, 2020) – Authorities identified the man who died in a high-speed crash mid-June in San Jose.
 
The crash happened around 2:10 a.m. on June 16 near Almaden Expressway and Redmond Avenue.
 
According to police, a black 2006 Acura Integra was traveling southbound on the expressway at a high rate of speed when it collided with two trees. The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.
 
Coroners official identified the driver as Rodrigo Guerrero Llamas, 21, of San Jose.
 
A GoFundMe page was created to raise money for his funeral.
 
Llamas served as a lance corporal in the Marine Corps. He was known for his smile and optimism which would shine through in the harshest environments and in the face of hardship that would cause others to question their decision to enlist, according to Dan Hill, the organizer of the fundraiser.
 
Authorities asked any witnesses of the crash to contact San Jose police Detective Eliseo Malvido at 408-277-4654.
