Vanessa Espinosa Injured After Car Collides with Cal Fire Fire Engine in Napa

 
NAPA, CA (July 2, 2020) – A 22-year-old woman was injured after her car collided with a Cal Fire fire engine in Napa Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, Vanessa Espinosa of Vallejo was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on the highway. She was attempting to make a left turn onto Streblow Drive when the car collided with the fire engine.
 
The fire engine was traveling with red lights and siren. It came from the Cal Fire station on Monticello Road and was headed for an out-of-county fire in Clayton.
 
Espinosa sustained major injuries in the crash. First responders transported her to Queen of the Valley Medical Center.
 
Meantime, the three Cal Fire employees on the fire engine did not report any injuries.
 
The CHP shut down southbound Highway 221 at Magnolia Drive, by Napa State Hospital. However, they then moved the closure to Imola Avenue. The road reopened at about 5:15 p.m.
