2 Injured, Robert Crain Arrested after Pedestrian Accident in Lake Arrowhead
LAKE ARROWHEAD, CA (June 28, 2020) – A man and his father sustained injuries after a driver intentionally hit them near Lake Arrowhead, Sunday afternoon.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 1:00 PM. Due to unknown reasons, two men had a dispute with an SUV driver. Moments later, the white SUV rammed into a red pickup truck multiple times.
As the red pickup attempted to avoid the aggressive driver, the SUV hit the two men in the 30000 block of Hook Creek Road. One victim was drug under the SUV as a result of the incident.
Emergency crews transported both men to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. It is unknown whether or not the pickup driver, who had no connection to the argument, sustained injuries in the crash.
The SUV driver, later identified as 37-year-old Robert Crain of Hemet, tried to flee the scene but was immediately detained. As per reports, Crain had his wife and two children in the vehicle when he hit the pickup truck and the pedestrians.
Authorities charged Crain with attempted murder and child endangerment. He is jailed at the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $1 million.
