Matthew Hosford Dies After Altercation with Michael Stewart Jr. in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (July 2, 2020) – A 39-year-old box truck driver died after an altercation with his passenger in Tucson’s northwest side on Tuesday, June 30.
 
Based on an investigation of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Matthew Hosford was driving a box truck when he got into a fight with his passenger, 33-year-old Michael Stewart Jr..
 
The row led Hosford to drive through a chain-link fence. The box truck subsequently crashed into a home in the 7800 block of West Dos Rotundo Drive.
 
Hosford died at the scene. The deputies said it did not appear that he died because of the crash. They found Hosford outside the truck with signs of trauma.
 
The deputies, meanwhile, arrested Stewart on suspicion of first-degree murder. The incident remains under investigation.
