Father, 5-Year-Old Hurt in Pedestrian Accident at 44th Street and St. Johns Boulevard [VANCOUVER, WA]

Father and 5-Year-Old Child Injured in Vancouver Pedestrian Crash

 
VANCOUVER, WA (July 02, 2020) – A pedestrian accident at 44th Street and St. Johns Boulevard left a father and his 5-year-old child injured Saturday afternoon, June 27.
 
According to the Vancouver police, the incident happened at around 1:15 p.m. The two stepped into the crosswalk at the intersection of Northeast 44th Street and St. Johns Boulevard just as a Toyota Camry started through the intersection on a green light.
 
A Jeep then ran the red light and hit the Camry, causing the latter to spin. The Camry subsequently struck the father and child in the crosswalk.
 
The father suffered serious injuries to his lower body, while the child appeared to have no injuries. Both were rushed to the hospital as a precaution.
 
First responders also took the driver of the Camry to the hospital with head and back pains.
 
Meantime, there was no information on whether an arrest or a citation was made in relation to the incident. The Vancouver Police Department’s traffic unit is still investigating the crash.
