Man Critically Injured in El Cajon Pedestrian Accident

 
EL CAJON, CA (June 29, 2020) – A man sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash at Avocado Avenue and Washington Avenue in El Cajon Thursday evening.
 
According to the El Cajon police, the accident happened at about 11:00 p.m. A vehicle was traveling south on Avocado Avenue and passing through the intersection at Washington Avenue when it hit the pedestrian.
 
First responders took the pedestrian to a hospital in critical condition. The authorities have not released his name, saying the man is in his 50s.
 
At this time, it was not clear whether the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk when the vehicle hit him.
 
The police said alcohol or drugs were not a factor. They have also not made any citation or an arrest in relation to the incident.
