Rider Ejected after Motorcycle Accident on Highway 78 in East County

 
EAST COUNTY, CA (June 28, 2020) – A rider sustained injuries following a motorcycle accident on Highway 78, Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly after 1:00 PM. For reasons still under investigation, a black GMC Yukon and a motorcycle collided in the area of Highway 78 and Highway 79. The impact of the collision ejected the rider from the motorcycle.
 
Emergency crews found the motorcyclist lying in the middle of a lane. As per reports, the rider suffered a broken foot and was transported to a local hospital.
 
The driver of the Yukon stopped to render aid and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
