Man Killed in Two-Car Crash on Highway 38 at Forest Road 1N86 [ANGELUS OAKS, CA]
Afternoon Crash on Highway 38 in Angelus Oaks Kills 1 and Injures 2
ANGELUS OAKS, CA (June 24, 2020) – A man was killed following a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon in Angelus Oaks.
The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. on Highway 38, just west of Forest Road 1N86.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2016 Hyundai Veloster was traveling westbound on the highway. At the same time, a 2014 Toyota Rav-4 was heading eastbound.
Moments later, the Hyundai veered into the eastbound lanes at a high rate of speed and collided head-on with the Toyota.
As a result, the Hyundai’s driver suffered major injuries and died at the scene. He was only identified as a 35-year-old Los Angeles resident. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Toyota driver, a 23-year-old woman of Murrieta, sustained moderate injuries. Her 16-year-old female passenger, only had minor injuries.
Emergency personnel transported the injured patients to Loma Linda University Medical Center for proper treatment.
It is unknown if intoxication was a factor in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
