Car Crashes into Oak Tree on Neal Springs Road in Templeton Killing Four People
TEMPLETON, CA (June 29, 2020) – Four people were killed following a car crash Monday evening in Templeton, authorities said.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at Neal Springs Road and Deer View Lane.
According to the CHP, a 2007 Infiniti was trying to pass a slower moving car. After passing the car, it sped up as the road transitioned into series of curves. After cresting a small rise, the driver suddenly applied brakes when he lost control.
The Infiniti then veered off the roadway and crashed into a large oak tree at high speed.
One of the female passengers was ejected from the rear seats despite wearing her seat belt. The driver and two passengers remained inside the vehicle.
Arriving paramedics pronounced all four occupants dead at the scene.
Coroners officials identified the driver as 22-year-old Kegin Dakota York of Creston. The three passengers were 22-year-old Taylan Elaine Perez of Paso Robles, 23-year-old Shelby Lynn Biaggini of Bend, Oregon, and 21-year-old Karen Montescabrera of Paso Robles.
At least two GoFundme accounts were created for the families of the victims.
Authorities encouraged any witnesses to contact the Templeton office of the Highway Patrol at (805) 434-1822.
