2 Hospitalized after Car Crashes into Rialto Fire Department Station 201
RIALTO, CA (June 26, 2020) – A firefighter sustained injuries after a car crashed into the living area of a Rialto fire station on Willow Avenue, Friday evening.
According to the Rialto Police Department, a vehicle hit Station 201 at 131 South Willow Avenue. The driver almost hit a firefighter seated 3 feet away from the front quarter of the vehicle. The impact of the crash also left smashed furniture, broken glass, and vehicle fluid.
Emergency responders transported the firefighter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton for minor injuries. After medical clearance, the firefighter, who is a veteran of 15 years, was released and will spend two weeks at home for recovery.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and needed hospitalization.
As per reports, this is the third time that a vehicle crashed into Station 201.
Rialto police continue to investigate the accident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
