Fatal Fiery Crash on Pala Temecula Road in North County

 
NORTH COUNTY, CA (June 30, 2020) – One person was killed and three others were injured following a fiery crash Tuesday afternoon in North County.
 
The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on Pala Temecula Road, about two miles south of Pechanga Resort Casino.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, an SUV carrying four people hit a tree and caught fire.
 
Deputies arrived and pronounced one person dead at the scene. They did not release the identity of the deceased pending next of kin notification.
 
Three other occupants were injured. Paramedics took one person to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, and two others to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.
 
The severity of injuries sustained was not immediately known, but the three patients were expected to survive.
 
Crews closed Pala Temecula Road in both directions under around 7:30 p.m. while they cleared the scene.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
