Pedestrian Dead after Struck by Train on Columbia Avenue

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 28, 2020) – A woman lost her life after she was struck by a train on Columbia Avenue, Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the Riverside Fire Department, a train hit the pedestrian shortly before 4:00 PM.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. As per reports, the victim appeared to be between 25 and 35 years old.
 
Police officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal collision. Those who have witnessed the incident should contact the investigators as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information to the public once it becomes available.
