Stephen Barrey Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Highway 101 [Windsor, CA]

38-Year-Old Stephen Barrey Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101

 
WINDSOR, CA (June 27, 2020) – Authorities identified 38-year-old Stephen Barrey of Oceanside as the man hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 101, late Saturday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 10:40 PM. For reasons still under investigation, Barrey exited his BMW and left the engine running with the right-side door open. Then, a northbound Subaru Outback hit Barrey in the roadway, just south of Arata Lane.
 
Emergency crews pronounced Barrey dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the woman driving the Subaru remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP believes that Barrey may have been impaired and possibly exited his vehicle to urinate. Anyone with additional information can call Santa Rosa CHP office at (707) 588-1400. Authorities will release more details to the public once they become available.
