One Injured in Garbage Truck Accident on Martin Luther King Boulevard and Balzar Avenue [LAS VEGAS, NV]

Collision at Martin Luther King Boulevard Sends Person to the Hospital

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 30, 2020) – A person suffered injuries in an accident on Martin Luther King Boulevard that occurred in the North Las Vegas Valley Friday morning.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident involved two garbage trucks. It took place at approximately 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Balzar Avenue.
 
The officers said one person was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. It was not clear, however, whether the person hospitalized was one of the garbage truck drivers.
 
The crash prompted officials to close the Martin Luther King Boulevard and Balzar Avenue intersection. They also closed northbound Martin Luther King Boulevard at Hassell Avenue. The roadways reopened following the initial investigation and cleanup of the scene.
 
Meantime, the cause and circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
