14-Year-Old Lana Lewis Injured in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash in Fairfield

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (June 22, 2020) – 14-year-old Lana Lewis sustained injuries following a hit-and-run bicycle crash in Fairfield, Monday afternoon.
 
According to the Fairfield Police Department, the incident happened at about 1:28 PM. For reasons still under investigation, a speeding vehicle hit Lewis and her bicycle near Green Valley Middle School. Then, she rolled over the hood and her bicycle was sent 50 feet away as a result of the crash.
 
Emergency crews rushed Lewis to a hospital with major injuries, including a laceration in her leg, scrapes, and bruises. Lewis is reportedly feeling better after treatment, but her full recovery will take at least two more weeks.
 
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid. As per reports, the suspect vehicle is a 2003 or 2004 Toyota Camry, possibly missing a side mirror. Anyone with additional information can call the police at (707) 428-7300. A $1,000 reward is being offered for tips that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
 
Fairfield police continue to investigate the case.
