Jason Lee Ross Dead after Suspected Street Race Crash in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 19, 2020) – Authorities identified 43-year-old Jason Lee Ross as the driver killed in a suspected street race crash in Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened on June 19, at about 5:50 AM. A Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Ross, and a Toyota Scion, driven by 20-year-old Jefferson Guardadonajera, were traveling at a high rate of speed northwest on San Vicente Boulevard.
However, Ross lost control of the Camaro, hit a curb, and slammed into multiple fixed objects. The impact of the crash ejected Ross from his vehicle.
Emergency crews pronounced Ross dead at the scene. However, Guardadonajera did not stop to render aid and failed to identify himself to law enforcement, as required by law.
On June 23, Guardadonajera was brought into custody. As per reports, he has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and awaits his court proceeding in jail.
Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
