2 Injured in High-Speed Crash at Fourth Plain Boulevard and General Anderson Avenue [VANCOUVER, WA]
2 Drivers Hospitalized Following High-Speed Crash in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, WA (June 30, 2020) – Two drivers were injured in a high-speed crash at Fourth Plain Boulevard and General Anderson Avenue Thursday night.
According to the Vancouver police, officers responded to the incident at about 8:13 p.m.
An initial investigation showed that a white Chevrolet Cobalt and a black Acura Integra were speeding while westbound on East Fourth Plain Boulevard.
Approaching General Anderson Avenue, the Acura continued through the intersection despite the red light. It was then hit by an eastbound Toyota Camry that was turning left onto northbound General Anderson on a green light.
The Acura subsequently struck a light pole, splitting the vehicle in half. The Chevrolet, meanwhile, sped past and fled the crash scene.
The drivers of the Acura and the Camry both sustained minor injuries. They were both taken to a hospital for treatment.
The police said that speed and impairment were factors in the crash on the side of the Acura driver.
Meantime, the search for the white Chevrolet Cobalt and its driver continues. Anyone with information may contact the Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit.
