Fatal Motorcycle Crash at Ventura Road and Anna Way
OXNARD, CA (June 24, 2020) – Authorities have identified the motorcycle rider who died in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Oxnard.
The crash happened around 4:38 p.m. near the intersection of Ventura Road and Anna Way, just south of Gonzales Road.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, Valentin Solorio Jr., 41, of Fillmore, had been riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle south on Ventura Road at the time.
A 2015 Toyota Prius, driven by a 27-year-old Oxnard woman, made a left turn from northbound Ventura Road onto Anna Way and struck the motorcycle.
Paramedics rushed Solorio Jr. to Ventura County Medical Center, where he died.
CHP officials said the Prius driver sustained minor injuries. She stayed on scene.
Authorities suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash. They asked anyone with information about the incident to call Senior Officer Paul Knapp at 805-385-7750.
