One Killed in Rollover Crash on 8 Freeway [Boulevard, CA]

One Fatally Injured after Boulevard Rollover Crash on 8 Freeway

 
BOULEVARD, CA (June 29, 2020) — A solo-car rollover crash on 8 Freeway left at least one person dead near the East County desert community of Boulevard.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place on 8 Freeway on west 8 Freeway near McCain Valley Road at about 7:40 p.m. Friday, June 26.
 
The black vehicle involved in the collision ended up on its side. It partially blocked one of two westbound lanes. Authorities closed both lanes for 30 minutes.
 
Details of the incident are still unclear as of Friday. However, the Highway Patrol incident log showed that CHP officers asked the Medical Examiner’s Office by 8:00 p.m.
 
One lane of the freeway reopened at around 8:40 p.m., but the right lane remained closed after 10:00 p.m.
 
No other information was immediately available.
