63-Year-Old Joseph Wiley Dies after Motorcycle Crash in Santa Maria

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (June 25, 2020) – Authorities identified 63-year-old Joseph Wiley of Santa Maria as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Dominion Road, Thursday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:00 PM. A 1994 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was northbound with a group of other riders. Then, the motorcyclist went off the road and down a slight embankment in the 6300 block of Dominion Road.
 
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department, an American Medical Response ambulance, and a CHP patrol unit responded to the scene. Responders found Wiley and performed CPR on the unconscious rider. Unfortunately, Wiley later died at the scene.
 
CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal crash. However, investigators believe that Wiley may have suffered a medical emergency while riding his motorcycle. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
