Coroner Identifies 40-Year-Old Woman Killed in Stockton Hit-and-Run Crash

 
STOCKTON, CA (June 22, 2020) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning last week in Stockton.
 
The crash happened just after 1:00 a.m. on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near South Harrison Street, about a block east of 5 Freeway.
 
According to police, the woman was crossing the four-lane street in the middle of the block, outside a crosswalk when an unknown vehicle struck her. The vehicle did not stop after the crash.
 
Paramedics arrived and found the pedestrian with fatal injuries. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
The coroner’s office identified the woman as 40-year-old Jessica Rivera of Stockton.
 
On Saturday, Rivera’s family held a vigil at the intersection of Harrison Street and West Charter Way. Flowers, candles and balloons cover a pole at a Stockton intersection as loved ones remember the life of Rivera.
 
Rivera leaves behind a son and a young daughter. Her mother says they were at home baking cookies when Rivera went out to run a quick errand. She never made it back home.
 
Authorities are still on the lookout for the suspect. They asked anyone with information to contact the Stockton Police Department non-emergency number at (209) 937-8377.
