Elderly Passenger Dies in Broadside Crash on Highway 62 at Airway Avenue

 
YUCCA VALLEY, CA (June 25, 2020) – An elderly passenger was killed following a broadside crash Thursday afternoon in Yuca Valley, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 3:04 p.m. on Highway 62 at Airway Avenue
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling on the highway when another car broadsided it.
 
The impact caused serious injuries on the female passenger of the first vehicle. Paramedics rushed her to Hi-Desert Medical Center, where she died while undergoing treatment.
 
The coroner’s office identified the victim as Ramona Pedrosa, 81, of Yucca Valley. She was restrained at the time of the crash.
 
The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating this fatal incident.
