Delfino Santillan Arrested in Fatal DUI Crash on Visalia Road [FARMERSVILLE, CA]

Woman Killed in DUI Wrong-Way Crash on Visalia Road near Road 176

 
FARMERSVILLE, CA (June 26, 2020) – A driver suspected to be driving under the influence was arrested following a fatal crash Friday evening in Farmersville.
 
The crash happened around 9:12 p.m. along Visalia Road, just west of Road 176.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Civic was traveling the wrong way when it slammed into a Toyota Camry.
 
As a result, the female driver of the Camry died at the scene. Officials said she had picked up a passenger who could not drive home since they were drunk and did not want to drive while under the influence. She was not wearing a seat belt.
 
The Camry’s passenger, who was also not wearing a seat belt, suffered major injuries.
 
The driver of the Civic was also seriously injured. Authorities identified him as
Delfino Santillan of Farmersville.
 
Paramedics took Santillan and the Camry’s passenger to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
 
Authorities determined that Santillan was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. They arrested him pending release from the hospital.
