Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 94 near Community Building Road

 
DULZURA, CA (June 27, 2020) – One person died following a head-on crash Saturday morning in Dulzura.
 
The crash happened around 6:35 a.m. on Highway 94 near Community Building Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided head-on for unknown reasons. One vehicle went off the side of the road about 50 feet down an embankment and was totaled.
 
Deputies arrived and pronounced one person dead at the scene. Two others suffered severe injuries.
 
An air ambulance took one patient, while a ground ambulance transported the other to a hospital.
 
The coroner’s office did not release the identity of the deceased victim pending next of kin notification.
 
Officials closed the highway in both directions for several hours while they cleared the scene. The highway was reopened around 11:30 a.m.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
